Muah.ai’s unique feature: real phone calls
Muah.ai offers real outbound phone calls to your mobile number on the Ultra VIP plan. The AI companion calls you — real-time, with a natural voice. This is unique in the segment. Critical caveat: US users only. EU users pay $99.99/mo for a feature they cannot use.
DarLink’s video generation
DarLink generates short videos (5–15 seconds) of the companion — text-to-video, configurable by appearance and scenario. Quality is solid for AI video but generation takes 1–3 minutes. Included on the Advanced plan, via tokens on Essential.
Privacy note: Muah.ai 2024 data breach
Muah.ai had a documented security incident in 2024 in which 1.9 million email addresses were exposed. The company has communicated security improvements but has not published independent verification. Do not enter sensitive personal data in chats.
Our verdict
Choose DarLink AI: For the best multimedia companion package at moderate prices — especially if video generation matters.
Choose Muah.ai: Only if real phone calls are the primary use case AND you are in the US. The Ultra VIP price ($99.99/mo) is only justified for this feature.
